What is it?
Co-Codamol 30/500mg is a strong painkiller that combines paracetamol and codeine. It blocks pain signals and reduces fever.
What’s it used for?
It helps relieve headaches, migraines, backache, toothache, period pain, arthritis, sore throat, and cold & flu symptoms. Best for short-term use.
How to take it:
Take tablets whole with water, with or without food. Stick to your doctor’s advice to avoid addiction. Do not exceed 8 tablets in 24 hours.
Who can take it:
Adults: 1–2 tablets every 4–6 hours
Teens 16–18: Same as adults
Ages 12–15: 1 tablet every 6 hours (max 4/day)
Not for under 12s
Side effects:
Common: Constipation, nausea, dry mouth, headaches
Serious: Allergic reactions, dizziness, difficulty urinating, dependency
Tips to manage side effects:
Eat fiber and stay hydrated for constipation
Take with food for nausea
Avoid alcohol and driving if drowsy
